This trip started with a bang… I knew that my friend Savannah was coming and we wanted our friend Keely to come too BUT I thought she couldn’t. Turns out a couple weeks before, Keely’s passport came in and she SURPRISED me in France!!
Day 1: We hopped on a quick flight from Paris to Nice and got some breakfast outside… this is one of my favorite things to do in Europe – eat outside in the sunshine and chat!!
We had sometime to kill before we checked into our Airbnb, so we hung by the beach for a while and then went to ZARA!!!! I am obsessed with Zara, so anytime I am in Europe… I will be going there haha.
Later, we went back to our Airbnb to rest, freshen up and head out to dinner – I got Paella bc I was missing Spain and then we had to get some gelato after so the girls could try real European gelato!
The main square had street performers and it was so fun and cute out there!!
Day 2: We woke up and got some brecky and then we headed to the beach! We rented these super cute beach chairs and umbrellas and hung out and read there for the beginning of the day, it was so nice after running around Brussels, Amsterdam, and Paris for 8 days haha.
Then, we went back and got ready for the evening – we did the cutest little trolly tour of the city. I love learning about the history of things! It took us up to the top of this mountain and it was the coolest view. Then for dinner, we went to go to this epic, beautiful, nice restaurant… once we got there we found out it was closed that day LOL sooooo… we ended up at Hard Rock Cafe. Now, normally I would not go to a chain restaurant while I was in Europe.. but I had been there for two weeks and hadn’t had ranch or any American food. When I finally got ranch that day I about had tears in my eyes hahaha.
Day 3: We got up early this morning and shopped around a little bit and tried linch at McDonalds – which was pretty different than American ones.. look at this mini cup of ice cream that comes with a kids meal! Then we hopped on a bus and headed to Monte Carlo, which is in Monaco. I was surprised to find out we were going to a different country (I thought it was all in France).
We got an awesome view in Monaco and I went into the famous Monte Carlo casino.. window shopped for some Prada bags hehe and got to go on the Grand Prix race track only weeks before it was about to happen! It was so cool to be able to go down and walk on / sit on the actual track that we saw on tv a couple weeks later. Of course, we had to do a gelato stop as well.
Next up was this little French village called Eze and was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Eze was founded in around 2000 BC!!!! How cool is that!!
For dinner, we stopped in this nice restaurant and got some cheese fondue for an appetizer and then had our farewell dinner!!
It was a quick trip, but a great one! I will definitely be back to The South of France again one day <3
