Your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life and you want to make sure that you make the most out of it. Here are some tips to help you do just that:
Hire a wedding planner: A wedding planner can take care of all the details, leaving you free to enjoy your special day. They can handle everything from the decor and flowers to the catering and music, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. They can even help set up / take down and communicate with all your other vendors! This takes not only the stress off of you – but also your loved ones! You don’t want your Mom or someone else important to you to spend your wedding day stressed and trying to damage control – you want them to enjoy the day with you!
Prioritize your time: Make a list of the most important things you want to do on your wedding day and prioritize your time accordingly. This could include spending time with your partner, taking photos with family and friends, and enjoying the wedding reception. As a wedding photographer, I talk with a lot of brides and everyone has different priorities – some care more about formal portraits, others want me to just capture to fun and candid of the day! Also, you may not get a moment alone with your spouse, so if that is important to you be sure to schedule that in!!!
Get enough sleep: Make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before your wedding day. You want to be well-rested and full of energy for the big day. Maybe even take a night bubble bath, put on a face mask, and enjoy the night before! Don’t forget to take care of your skin leading up to your wedding so that your make up goes on smooth 🙂
Stay organized: Keep a schedule or itinerary of the day’s events to ensure that you stay on track and don’t miss anything important. This will also help you to manage your time effectively. I make timelines for all my wedding clients and I highly recommend they send it to all the vendors, wedding party, parents, and anyone else involved!! This way people know where they are supposed to be and when and aren’t aggravating the bride + groom with asking where they are supposed to be all the time! I even printed out pocket sized versions of our timeline and handed them out at the rehearsal dinner!!!
Take care of yourself: Make sure you eat well and stay hydrated throughout the day. Don’t forget to take breaks when you need them and make time for yourself to relax and enjoy the moment!! It is s long (but amazing) day – a lot of the time the schedule gets so packed people forget to eat, drink water, and just rest!!
